A Study on the Morale of Public Health Nurses in a Community

Abstract
A survey on morale of public health nurses, in a community was conducted from July 1976 to February 1977. Two hundred and thirty-eight school nurses and 145 public health nurses were subjected to for this study and method used for data collection was a questionnaire and replies obtained by mail. The main findings of this study were as follows. 1) Interpersonal relation, self-esteem, and spare time were most positive aspects(means satisfaction). 2) Personnel administration, salary, and social status were the less positive aspects. 3) Mobility for promotion was negative aspects(means dissatisfaction). 4) Responses were evenly divided about working load. 5) In school nurses, educational theory and practice was the less negative aspects and budget management was evenly divided.
